A description in G.G. Gerbing's "Camellias" 1945, describes an outstanding vivid red, peony form with golden stamens among inner twisted petals, create an illusion of several individual blooms in one. This photo seems to illustrate such habit, and is referred to as 'Emperor of Russia'plate #75.
